The Professional Photographers Association of Northern Ireland was formed on the 14th February 1966, for full time professional photographers who wished to keep in touch with each other's trade, trends, new methods and techniques. In 1966 a handful of Professional Photographers got together to discuss the possibilities of forming an Association of Professional Photographers with the object to improve the standard of work for the good of the community. A meeting was arranged for the 14 th February 1966 to be held at the Drumkeen Hotel, Belfast . The result was a huge success with 100% turnout of local Professional Photographers. - Read more
